PETER KENT
'The Birth of London's Newest City.'
Armed with a sketchbook, Peter Kent has decided to spend 2015 recording the dramatic changes to his home town of Greenwich and its historic maritime environment.
The recent upsurge of the London property market has resulted in overseas investment in both business and residential demand. Only a long-term resident could identify and illustrate these projects for the benefit of both existing residents and newcomers.
Peter, as a freelance artist, has been commissioned by an amazing cross section of clients during his fifty years of working a living in the Royal Borough. His interest in the tidal Thames has enthused him to record the rapid transformation of the once working dockland into the UK’s financial hub, whilst Greenwich has evolved as a cultural and fashionable community, commanding international respect for its architectural prowess and maritime renown.
Peter’s new work has resulted in the creation of spectacular aerial panoramas of the emerging city now under construction.
This exhibition is sponsored by Greenwich and Blackheath Estate Agents, John Payne who are opening their second SE10 office in 2016.
